Cars for Kids announces Colin Weatherwax as the new CEO

DALLAS, TX, August 2, 2022 – America Can! Cars for Kids, the car donation nonprofit, famous for its tagline Write off the Car, Not the Kid®, recently named Colin Weatherwax as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Weatherwax has served in several different capacities at Cars for Kids since 2011 and has been instrumental in its success. Cars for Kids coordinates vehicle donations and distributes the proceeds to schools that assist at-risk youth in earning their high school diploma.  

“I look forward to my new role and its many opportunities of growing donor support and in turn, the number of kids we can help.”, says Mr. Weatherwax. He will lead a company and team which has been helping students for more than 25 years.    

In 2011, Mr. Weatherwax worked at Cars for Kids washing cars. He quickly rose through the ranks becoming Consignment Manager, Assistant Director, Director, Vice President of Operations, Chief Operations Officer and finally, CEO.  

“I am proud of the work I have done at Cars for Kids. I am thankful to serve an amazing organization that does so much for the kids, their families, and the community,” says Mr. Weatherwax. Mr. Weatherwax prides himself on continuously searching for ways to improve the business and to implement technology that will take the organization to the next level. 

Mr. Weatherwax holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
